Just a couple of quick things, the answers to a few of the questions we have been shooting back and forth for a bit. I reviewed some of season 2.5 for guidance earlier last night.
The first question was how many people are on the planet? The answer is 39,579. Leaving the rest, somewhere in the [...]

Though we start out talking about webisode eight, this ‘cast quickly moves into lots of new territory. Highlights: Speculation on the disposition of the fleet, genetic diversity among Cylons, and the gray areas of “collaboration” (and the new depth it’ll bring to Galactica in season three).

While skimming through a bit of season 2.0 I stopped at the scenes where Six and Boomer wake up in the pod-of-goo. I was struck by two things. The first was how much connection both of them upon waking up had with their former lives. They seemed to be very concerned with what (to them [...]

I just watched Invasion of the Body Snatchers for the first time the other night (I know, I know) and it was awesome. As you might guess, I was intrigued by how many common themes the movie shares with BSG, especially when they discover the pod people Look Like Us Now.
A really weird scene in [...]

Laura Roslin has already had one miraculous return from near-oblivion; it’s time she returns to a leadership role in the Resistance and gets back to leading humanity to its destiny. Down on New Caprica, we know she’s gone back to teaching school - a noble profession even for former presidents. But surely she’s not going [...]

We’ll have another podcast out to you tomorrow with lots of discussion about webisode eight, but I couldn’t wait to weigh in with a few thoughts. First and foremost: What? Aaron’s sorry that they killed 10-or-so “innocent” humans in the temple? If he’s sorry about that “tragedy” he must be downright apologetic about murdering 20 [...]

TV shows and movies are some of the few entirely collaborative arts. It’s just not possible for one person to create such a work alone, so when I see brilliant show like Galactica, I know that I’m not just witnessing one great idea — I’m seeing hundreds of great ideas from dozens of people and some inspiring [...]

Here’s a question to ponder: Can any sentient race exist without war? Even though that’s one of the “unanswerables” that keeps humanities scholars busy, I’d suspect we all have an opinion, even if we do (in the immortal — though not the most famous — words of Neil Armstrong when challenged by NASA brass regarding his [...]

Does the name Kara Thrace have any significant meaning? It might if you’re interested in ancient Greek history (as apparently the BSG writers are).
Thrace is an area in Eastern Europe that spreads across parts of Greece, Bulgaria, and Turkey. Ancient Thrace, settled around 500 B.C., also included parts of modern Serbia and Macedonia. The indegenous Thracians [...]

Webisode 7 came out today, and as short as it was it still left us with some big questions to answer. Highlights: Rounded chairs and red drinks, questioning the destiny of Cylon sentience, lots and lots of theories regarding “Starbuck’s baby,” and a new “glowing back” theory.

As we were watching the episode “Scar” in our marathon-to-prepare-for-Season-3 the other night, it struck me that it’s really cool that the two “heavy hitters” among Galactica’s Viper pilots are women, and that the central drama of the episode dealt with the power struggle between Starbuck and Kat. Of course, they’re under Lee’s (the CAG) command, [...]

I realize I should go back and watch the last few episodes again and again (just got the 2.5 DVD set…it rocks!) till I find out where they are but, where are all the ships from the fleet?
Did they strip them for parts and ground them permanently on the planet to live in or off [...]
