I agree more drinkin and more fightin. Jon, I also agree that what makes a good episode has character development, political drama, and maybe if were lucky, a couple of ships to go boom.

Does anyone else think that by not having the cylons in the last few episode that they are trying to make them mysterious again? After the early part of the season I have to admit that I wasn't frightened of them anymore. I wonder if that is what they are trying to do, make them scarry again.

I agree...I would like to see some more space battle. I realize that it's expensive but it IS what alot of Sci-Fi'er really like to see. I admit that when BSG does it...they do it BIG...but I'd like to see it more often. Something else I'd like to see...(after the Chief gets past his labor problem next week) is him to come back with a renewed vitality for his job. He seems to have become bored with it...and not suprisingly so...but I would like to see him take the initiative again like he did with the blackbird and for that matter...why haven't they build another? I would think that Adama would see the value in a stealthy ship and if it ment the sacrifice of 2 or 3 vipers for parts he would be for it. And for his next project...maybe he and Starbuck/Apollo and he get together and install (like in the orginal series) the "Boost" button on the vipers. Essentially it's like an afterburner. I think that Starbuck especially would really get a kick out having it in combat. It would give them an edge over the raiders.

Well, I hope you got your fix with "Exodus (Part II)." That had enough action to last for a few weeks, at least.

I actually like that the action is played down in the show. When it happens, as in Exodus (or in "Resurrection Ship part II"), it's really cathartic and worth the wait and actually means something. It's much more satisfying, dramatically, than having the requisite dog fight in every episode one got in the original series.

Oh, and I just discovered your forum through the iTunes podcast. I'm very glad to have done so and look forward to enjoying your rants, comments, theories, etc. for some time.

See, even now your inner-geekness cries out for more battle scenes. Deny if you like but you too crave some fleet action! Oh yes my friend, you too shall feel the pull of space combat sir! ;)

I approach it from the opposite angle I suppose. I enjoy the space combat immensely, but I have to say what ultimately draws me in is the character development, political & social commentary and exploration of the human condition.

That said, the depictions of the Battlestars vs Basestars with cannons and missiles and immense numbers of explosions and clouds of dogfights just makes me absolutely drool. I think it appeases my inner-geek and guy-ness all at once.
