Pike & Audra: I thought it was a celebration of the first week back to teaching for seemingly so many of us. GWC does seem to have a pretty high number of educators lurking and participating with the grade ranges covered starting as low as PreK and going up presumably into at least undergraduate studies.
Of course, Roslin is a teacher by training…so this kinda would be expected, no?

FIRST week? I’m about to wrap up my second week teaching. And it’s already feeling like I’ve been at it for a year (which is a good sign. I’m starting to get my motivation back. I might even be able to start this year’s job search–two year fellowship wrapping up next summer–again!). Then again, I just dropped my little one off on her first day of kindergarten, which gave me a little shot of reality right on my cylon arm. Sniff, sniff.
Now, I take these top ten lists, funny as they are, as evidence that BSG needs to come back. Seems like Audra’s getting punchy. I know I am. And with the news, which as it turns out was not a joke, that Sci-Fi is indeed considering splitting the fourth season up into two by having a year-long gap between the mid-seasons I’m getting punchier and punchier over this show by the minute.

Armando: It’s bad enough when I am watching an interview with Peter Fonda about “3:10 to Yuma” and see a clip where somebody uses a long rifle to shoot a horse…and the horse explodes like a Centurion might. What was my first thought? Yeah, I was curious if that was where the Galactica’s missing explosive rounds wound up and wondered if we’d see Tahmoh Penikett in that film.
Frankly, at this point, I do wonder if a collaborative writing project…or something else…that can stretch until season 4’s kick off would be a good thing to complement the re-watch. I suppose it might help a few folks. What it could be is a matter up for discussion in my view, though.

Heyyy - I’ve always been this way.
It’s my second week of teaching, too. And third week of grad studies (doing translation work now, finished with classes!)
