Dragon*Con, Bamber Bunnies, And Bachelorette Parties
By ChuckSaturday
The only panel we attended on Saturday was entitled Two Apollos, a Chief, and a Battlestar – which I still contend should have been entitled Two Apollos, a Cylon, and a Battlestar. It featured Jamie Bamber, Aaron Douglas, and Richard Hatch. There was a bit of confusion surrounding the location of the panel because the changed it at the last minute due to the Mythbusters needing more space. The con was also having crowd issues; there were too many people in the building and the fire inspector was there.Â

This is, of course, the panel that started the Season four split rumors. I could recount what I remember from the panel, but I don’t have to: one of the Bunnies taped it and another Bunnies’ husband uploaded for us here: http://www.bamberbunnies.com/Dragon*Con.html
Note: The panel includes minor spoilers. It’s nothing that gives away the plot or anything, but want to warn you none the less.
Coming out of the panel our group ran into Richard Hatch, who was nice enough to talk with us for a few minutes and take pictures with us. He’s much thinner and shorter in person then he appears on screen.
Our second stop for the day was the Walk of Fame again. This time we brought the stuff we brought for Jamie: a Breast cancer bracelet one of the Bunnies had made — you can see it in a lot of the pictures as he wore it all weekend and we all have similar ones that are silver and pink — as well as a framed picture of the girl who battled Breast Cancer and one of the other Bunnies. We also brought coloring books for his kids, copies of some fan art, plus Bamber Bunnies T-shirts for his wife and children. (This idea came from another con where Katee said that his girls would look cute in them.) He was very gracious and spent several minutes talking to the large group of us; there were at least 15 of us standing there at the time.Â
Our third stop was the photo-op that we convinced the photographer to take. The con photographer is only set up for a max of three people, but there were 10 of us — plus Jamie. Thankfully we’d had planned the picture well in advance. We all wore Bamber Bunnies T-shirts.
While we were waiting in line, a man in the other line pulled out a shirt from his bag, put it on and asked to take a picture with us. You can see that pic here(http://www.tshirttrauma.com/PhotoGallery.html) and the shirt speaks for itself. (Note: Possibly NSFW. You have to have a sense of humor.)
Several of the girls were getting their individual pictures with Jamie or Aaron first; they were taking pictures at the same time. As each person came back in, Aaron started making comments about our shirts and that we were all there for Jamie. We mentioned that we had an extra shirt if he wanted to be in the picture with us — it was a medium. He took the shirt, put it on, and proceeded to join our picture.
There were lots of funny comments from both Jamie and Aaron. Jamie kept laughing and said that he couldn’t believe Douglas was in the shirt. Once we were all set for the picture Jamie stated that he now knew how Hef must feel. The photographer took some candid shots of Jamie and Aaron, including Aaron doing his “Helo†face – the version that was used in the final copy of the picture. We had lots of fun. The first, untouched copy can be seen at: http://www.bamberbunnies.com/Welcome.html and I uploaded the final photo-shopped copy to The GWC pool.

After the picture op it was back to the hotel to get all dressed up for the Dragon*Con Banquet. We had all decided to go — and get all dolled for it. The food was OK, but we left not long after dinner. While it wasn’t the most exciting event of the con, we had fun dressing up. Then we then headed down stairs to wait for the Colonial Fleet Party.Â

There were lots of issues at the Fleet party because too many people showed up for the small room in which it was scheduled. While we waited, Jamie and Mark walked by. When they saw us, Mark says to Jamie, “I am going to kiss one of your Bunnies!†…and proceeded to kiss one of the girls on the cheek.
There seemed to be some sort of competition going on between the two of them as there were several of Mark’s fans — who are known around the SciFi boards as Romo Kitties — at D*C also. The funny thing is that we all get along great. To make a long story short we ended up being some of the last people in There were lots of people in really good BSG costumes, including an original centurion. Aaron did show up later, but I had already left by then; it was a really long day.
Read on to page three for my Sunday experiences.

Yes, Chief was kinda adopted as a Bunny….at least he wore a Bunny shirt, much to Jamie’s shagrin. And the pic was as much fun as it looks
Hope you all enjoy - there are also more pics at Flickr - if I didn’t say that in the post.
Much fun was had by all.

Hmm… perhaps Chief is more of a Hare. I can’t imagine female hares or male bunnies. And I can never get over how much hair (or hare?) Jamie has away from BSG. No ice cream dallop or duck butt style.
And I’d like to add that Mrs. Ron is super cool on the boards. Not a member, just browse around.

Actually we have both Male Bunnies and Jack Rabbits.
Aaron is of the Jack Rabbit variety.
Male Bunnies favor Jamie in the same way the girls do….
