Dragon*Con, Bamber Bunnies, And Bachelorette Parties

By Chuck

Monday

With the dawn of Monday, we knew our little vacation was coming to an end.  In fact several of us were not able to go to any of the panels on Monday due to early flight times.  Sadly, I was among those that couldn’t go.But several of the girls did get to go and it was taped, though I don’t have the recordings yet. (I’ll upload them later if I get the chance.) One thing I do know is that Jamie was not able to be there due to the fact that he was heading to Louisiana to film the Pulse sequels — which are direct to DVD. He’s playing the lead.

Overall Conclusions

I had an amazing time, and the stories I related here are just a sampling of our fun at the con. I am sure I am missing things, but Chuck’s going to set-up a thread in the GWC forum for comments and questions. As I remember things I will post them there.

One thing’s for sure: when I go again — and there’s a good possibility that I’ll go next year regardless of who’s there from BSG — I will be flying in on Thursday and not leaving until late on Monday or Tuesday. I missed a few things because of my flight schedule. Plus it’s way easier to register on Thursday and not have to worry about it later. And while it would be nice to stay at the con hotels, the overflow hotels are great and not far from the Con and are much cheaper.

Some of my favorite costumes were Chew-boxey and Darth Boxey — see the Flickr pics — and the rest of the Star Wars characters (which I didn’t get a picture of) that people made out of alcohol and other assorted boxes — great stuff.

Finally, a few links to other people’s Dragon*Con experiences:

The Bamber Bunnies and the Romo Kitties had the largest presence at the Con, so there are lots of reports and photo’s in their thread:

– Raemani

Note: For additional details regarding Raemani’s experiences — or to talk to her about them directly — check out this thread on the GWC Forum. And special thanks to Raemani, the Bamber Bunnies, and others who provided the photos you see in this post. You can see the large versions — and lots more pictures from Dragon*Con — in the GWC Photo Pool.

    I knew it!

  3. Luc Says:

Thanks for sharing your experience, it was a fun read :)

  4. Armando Says:

Raemani, that is the coolest picture, EVER. How awesome!

  5. Raemani Says:

Yes, Chief was kinda adopted as a Bunny….at least he wore a Bunny shirt, much to Jamie’s shagrin. And the pic was as much fun as it looks

Hope you all enjoy - there are also more pics at Flickr - if I didn’t say that in the post.

Much fun was had by all.

  6. Number 13 Says:

Hmm… perhaps Chief is more of a Hare. I can’t imagine female hares or male bunnies. And I can never get over how much hair (or hare?) Jamie has away from BSG. No ice cream dallop or duck butt style.

And I’d like to add that Mrs. Ron is super cool on the boards. Not a member, just browse around.

  7. Raemani Says:

Actually we have both Male Bunnies and Jack Rabbits.

Aaron is of the Jack Rabbit variety.

Male Bunnies favor Jamie in the same way the girls do….

  8. Pike Says:

Shouldn’t that be… Oh, never mind.

Dave, what sort of problems are you having accessing the forums?

  9. Dave Says:

The Chief…wore a Bunny shirt??? Guess finding out you’re a final five Cylon kinda messes ya up :-)

Pike - have no ida. I have registered (twice) and everytime I press “Reply” I get the following:

If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

….again tens of billions of apologies for this post being off topic. Raemani - looks liek you had a blast and the pics are great–thanks for sharing them

Dave: Sorry you’re having trouble. Did you receive and follow the instructions in your activation email? You have to provide a valid email address and follow the instructions in the email in order to complete your registration. Until the system sees you activate the link in the email, it doesn’t let you post.

  11. Pike Says:

    Get on OK, Dave?

Raemani, thanks for this. I LOVE the photo of Jamie, the bunnies, and Aaron. LMAO.
