Count me in with those who think the Wachowski bros should have stopped after The Matrix. It just doesn’t make sense to keep going.
I was under the impression after seeing first movie that since Neo CONQUERED FREAKING DEATH by psychologically defeating the Matrix, he was no longer bound by its rules. But along comes Reloaded, and it turns out he still fears Matrix-death, can’t kill agents, and apparently the only new power he has is flight. ??
Also, the gritty realism of the first movie was ruined when we find out Neo is an ACTUAL god who can control things with his mind OUTSIDE the Matrix.

Agreed on all points, except I don’t think there is an outside the Matrix in the movies.

honestly, my only real complaint about Matrix: Reloaded is that the fight scenes go on FAR too long. Action is great, but I get bored after about five minutes, and there was just so much fighting and racing and racing and fighting and on and on and on.

I haven’t done the whole Matrix trilogy rewatch yet. I’m waiting until I can watch all 3 back to back to back.
I don’t think the latter two movies match up to the quality or the coolness of the original… I actually enjoy a similar movie, Dark City, which came out before The Matrix even more, but after multiple viewings, I own all of these movies (Dark City and the whole Matrix trilogy). I just don’t enjoy the latter two movies as much as the original overall.
