Nicki Clyne Sings

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

If you’re not a regular GWC forum reader, you may have missed out on this great find: BSG’s own Nicki Clyne singing “Tainted Love” at the Syndey Supanova convention this year. And while her vocal performance might be a tiny bit off, you’ve got to give her mad props for an enthusiastic performance — 90% [...]

No BSG Until April?

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

If you haven’t read this LA Times Blog shocker yet, take a look. Just as we suspected, “2008″ doesn’t necessarily mean January. Apparently it means “April.” From the Times Blog:
“Ronald D. Moore, the executive producer who runs “Battlestar Galactica,” is gearing up for the long goodbye by taking on a new task. He will step [...]

BSG Finale Delayed Until ‘09?

Sunday, September 2nd, 2007

In case you didn’t catch this in comments on this holiday weekend’s other BSG bad news post, here’s the latest rumor: Sci-Fi might sit on the final ten episodes of season four until February of 2009.
The rumor, originally posted on AICN, originated at DragonCon where an attendee says Aaron Douglas and Jamie Bamber dropped this [...]

No More BSG On iTunes?

Friday, August 31st, 2007

According to a New York Times article today, NBC Universal will not renew its iTunes contract with Apple, meaning that unless things change between now and then, Battlestar Galactica will disappear from iTunes as of January 1, 2008.
As the ‘Times says, “The decision by NBC Universal highlights the escalating tension between Apple and media companies, [...]

Pay No Attention to the Face Behind the Avatar…

Thursday, August 16th, 2007

Galactica Watercooler listeners have a new presence on Facebook, thanks to our pal Steve Lunny up in NYC! If you get a chance, come by and say hello - everyone is welcome! It’s also a great way to contact other GWC-ers and even see the faces behind the names (unless you’re like me and just [...]

Monday, July 16th, 2007

According to a press release from Sci-Fi this morning, we’ll receive “an eight-week series of exclusive mini-sodes, between two and three minutes in length, beginning in October.”  They go one to say that the mini-sodes will “take place during the original Cylon War and center on a young William Adama (played by Nico Cortez), who [...]

Tuesday, July 10th, 2007

A number of OGs contacted us today to remind everyone about the Razor trailer airing during tonight’s Eureka season premiere on Sci-Fi.  The episode airs at 9 p.m. (8 p.m. central), and if you’re one of the few who haven’t already snaked a look at the Razor preview via YouTube or others, you’ll definitely want [...]

Season Four Brings Galactica To An End

Friday, June 1st, 2007

As 13th Cylon mentions in the current frak party comments, an article posted online by The Hollywood Reporter quotes David Eick as confirming that BSG will come to a close at the end of season four.  From the article:
“Ending ‘Battlestar’ with the upcoming 22-episode fourth season was a creative decision made by the show’s executive [...]

A Cylon Raider From Space

Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007

At this year’s O’Reilly  Foo Camp, a few enterprising artists were offered the opportunity to create some, um, unique art that would likely appear later in space shots from Google Earth and possibly other such utilities.
They created some Space Invaders characters from large white blocks, but the item above will likely be of more interest [...]

Happy New Year

Monday, January 1st, 2007

I hope everyone’s having a good New Year’s Day today, hanging out, having some traditional food — whatever that might be for you — and enjoying the last vestiges of the holidays.
I also hope you’ll enjoy the bonus ‘cast this week.  I realize it contains no BSG content, but it was so much fun we [...]

Issues with Podcast #21 on iTunes

Wednesday, December 27th, 2006

First of all, thanks to those of you who submitted the fact that you’re not seeing Podcast #21 listed under the search page on iTunes.  I’m not seeing it now, either.  What’s strange is that the ‘cast is showing up correctly in the raw feed, and those of you who’ve subscribed via iTunes should automatically [...]

Merry Christmas from GWC

Monday, December 25th, 2006

Wow.  When we first sat around before season three and said, “Wouldn’t it be cool to do a podcast about the story and characters to compliment all the great ‘casts out there about news” I never imagined that it would become what GWC is today.  But we’re just a small part of GWC.  The real [...]
