As you may know, I moonlight as a teacher when I’m not bustin’ Cylon(z), and one area of teaching I enjoy immensely is African American/Black studies. It’s a delicate and wonderful thing to have civil conversations among diverse groups of people about the things that make us different - and to what extent they play [...]

Okay, this may have been done before (I’m way too lazy to check out the fan ‘verse to see), but here goes. In the spirit of the less-cerebral and sillier side of GWC…Vote for your favorite money shot! (Or add one if you don’t see it here.)
Male money shot: 1.) Lee dropping the towel in [...]

Katee Sackhoff is perfectly cast. Starbuck is so crazy, and I think she’s carrying around a lot of pain (about Zack, her childhood, the Farm, the whole Cylon war and occupation). She’s so wonderful and so terrible, sometimes in the same moment. What gets me is the look on her face the morning she marries Anders. [...]

I want to take a lead from a comment posted by Chris on the comments page for podcast #12:
In convincing Lee to abandon his father [Dualla] removes a central leader and a huge cadre of warriors in the death of New-Caprica. Leaving a fattened and weakened Lee to lead a civilian contingent.
There’s room for gobs of [...]

We’re always talking in the podcast about the kick-ass comments that our listeners post here at GWC.com. Damn, we’re lucky you take the time to send us all these great ideas!Â
I thought I’d take a minute and run down some of my personal favorites from the ones posted (or emailed) in the last few days:
On [...]

I mentioned in podcast #8 that at least four weddings between main characters have taken place off-screen since the fleet’s settlement on New Caprica: Starbuck and Anders, Chief Tyrol and Cally, Dee and Apollo, and…Helo and Sharon. In the Season 3 premiere episode Sharon is formally inducted into the fleet (again), given a uniform, and [...]

And God said “be fruitful and multiply.” Well, Apollo hasn’t been fruitful in the show (yet), but he seems to have multiplied. Don’t get me wrong–Â he still looks good, but D, you gotta take charge and help this man become fruitful. That is, make him eat fruit. Not donuts.
Since Jamie Bamber took us through the [...]
